ADAM CIOFFARI

DIRECTOR• ARTS ADMINISTRATOR • PERFORMER

Adam Cioffari is an award-winning stage director, arts administrator, and bass-baritone who has been praised for “proving as clever in devising stage antics as in executing them” (Voix des Arts). In his nearly two-decade career performing as an operatic bass-baritone, Adam has continuously garnered acclaim for his evocative performances, from his “zesty” (Opera News) Elviro in Houston Grand Opera’s Xerxes to his “sneering” (Washington Classical Review) Tom in Un Ballo in Maschera with Maryland Lyric Opera.

Adam’s deep love of opera was forged from his upbringing in the Ohio musical community, where his mother played bassoon in the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and his father was principal keyboardist. He has a great familiarity with the entirety of the standard repertoire and deep respect for the art form and the artists who bring it to life.

“I believe that the best stories we tell on the operatic stages are timeless depictions of the shared human experiences and emotions. I believe that stories of this nature have the power to reach anyone from all walks of life.” – Adam Cioffari
